I would also like to thank the runners up!

Coming in close second with 27% of the votes, Ashley with "The Love Knot."

Taking third place with 26% of the votes, Jess with "The Fay."

All of the suggestions were so wonderful! Thanks again everyone.

Now, there is one thing I didn't reveal....there's more to the invitation. Take a look at the ads for The Terra!

Out with the old, and in with the new!

Now that Fay has come and gone, we can get back to business. I hope everyone stayed safe and didn't have too much damage. I was pretty lucky, didn't even lose power. Not even once! School did end up being canceled on Thursday and yes the rescheduled my final for Saturday morning. Wasn't too happy about that, BUT I am officially done with Physics. ::Jumping for joy:: I did still have to go to school on Friday in the middle of a Tornado Warning. Now that was scary. But I survived.

So the worst part of last week was that my hard drive on my laptop crashed. Completely, burnt out, done. And my brilliant butt hadn't made a backup since March. So that means everything I have done for the business is gone. Well almost, I had a few things like order forms and stuff on a thumb drive. But the .psd file of my logos and pictures are gone... So that is were the new logo comes in. See it ^^^^ at the top! Let me know what ya'll think. As for the laptop, I will be without it for 2 1/2 weeks while it gets sent away by Best Buy because they don't have the hard drive in stock at any of the stores in town. Errrr. Now Jack and I have to fight over the desktop. Fun!

On a brighter note, I worked on a sample this weekend. I am super excited about it. It is a wedding invitation. I need your help though. I have no idea what to name it. So what I am going to do is have everyone give me suggestions for the name up until Tuesday at midnight. Then, on Wednesday I will have a poll to vote on the best. Here is a photo..

Leave me a comment to let me know what you think and what you think a good name is for it. Also, don't forget to comment on the new logo

Thanks for being so great!

The Process

~Start by browsing my photos to get an idea of a style you may like. Photos can be viewed here.

~Contact me with your needs. For example, quantity, colors, paper, ribbon and special embellishments. I will work with you to create the perfect invitation for your occasion.

~Submit an order form with a non-refundable deposit of $15.00 that will be applied to your final balance. I will then create a sample and quote. Remember, that each invitation is handmade and unique and the cost will depend on how much materials and time goes into the design. The quote will include up to 3 revisions of the sample.

~Approve the design and send a contract along with a 50% payment.

~The production starts and will take a minimum of 2 weeks depending on the quantity. Remember to plan ahead and allow plenty of time for production and shipping. I also offer a mail out service starting at .60 cents per envelope. All you need to provide is a typed list of your guests and their addresses.

~Remaining balance is due.

~After all invitations are complete and the final payment is received they will be packaged with care and shipped. Shipping cost is included in quote unless you decide to use the mail out service.

~Enjoy!

**I accept PayPal, checks and money orders.

***If for any reason you have to cancel after production has started, I will not be able to provide a refund due to the customization of each order. If you cancel before production has started I will be able to refund the 50% payment. The $15.00 deposit is non-refundable.

This is soooo cool!

So, I have been working on this blog all morning long and I am getting super excited. I can't wait for everyone to see it. I am not much of a blogger. Actually it is hard for me to open up to people. I am kinda shy. BUT it is about time that I let the whole world know me and let them know about An Occasional Design. So, bear with me as I get the hang of this thing and please subscribe. It would be mucho appreciated! And if you have a blog, I def want to read it. I love these things. I love having a little window into peoples lives to see how interesting they are and what great ideas they have.

Enough about blogging...let me actually blog! lol! What's on my mind...

Fay! She is headed our way! Nah, I don't think it will be that bad...Maybe?! Jack (the boyfriend) thinks it will be. He's overdramitac though! Obviously a lot of wind and rain to look forward to. I have finals this week. That would be so cool if they just closed school and gave us all an A on them. Fat chance, huh? O'well, a girl can dream. But there is a chance they may close school, but I'm sure we will have to make them up and that means going in on our 2 weeks off. Blah! But on a brighter note...my Physics class is over (besides the final on Thursday). Yipppeee. I am so glad. As much as I hated it, I didn't do to bad. I have a B+ as of right now. Hopefully, it will stay there!

On the business side of life... An Occasional Design is alive and kicking. I am still trying to get my name out there and come up with new things to get people interested. I'm finding out is really tough. But I love what I do and will not stop at anything! hehe! On that note, if you or anyone you know has an event coming up and need invitations, hit me up! Remember, Halloween is coming up. Having a Halloween party? I will have Halloween Specials up on September 1st.

I am currently looking forward to making my cousins Baby Shower invitations. They are going to be so awesome. I will show you them once they go out. (Don't want to ruin the element of surprise.) April is expecting her first child, a boy, Hunter Keen. My whole family is so excited. Also, she and her boyfriend are moving down here from Oklahoma soon. So we will get to see the cutie patootie!

Well, I think that is it for me today. I am going to lunch. Starving... Pass the word around.... Amanda is blogging!!! :)
